Discover Volcano Energy, a pioneering initiative in El Salvador that merges Bitcoin mining with renewable energy. Backed by a $250 million initial investment and government support, the project aims to position the country as a global leader in sustainable Bitcoin mining. The first phase includes a 241-megawatt renewable energy park in Metapán, powered by 169 MW of solar and 72 MW of wind energy. It also plans to harness geothermal power from local volcanoes, promoting hashrate decentralization and boosting national energy independence.
